Peter Pan's Flight: Just a Little More of Pixie Dust

Hello fellow Disney freaks!

If you thought that Peter Pan's Flight was already a magical attraction, guess again! On July 1 of 2015, Peter Pan's Flight re-opened with some more pixie dust in hand.

After what seemed like a long coming refurbishment, the ride re-opened with some new and exciting additions to the classic journey. Although it's been open to the public for nearly a year now, I didn't get the opportunity until recently to take the journey myself. So now that I have, here are my thoughts on the refurbished Peter Pan's Flight!

Peter Pan was already a magical experience, but it was missing some pixie dust. Not to say that Tinker Bell wasn't already flying around spreading her magic, but now the guests can see the pixie dust being sprinkled throughout the ride. This makes the ride seem very live and engaging. It reminds us that all we need in life is a little, "faith, trust, and pixie dust."

The story is now lead by Peter's very own shadow! From the nursery, you can see Peter's animated shadow flying on the wall. Not only are we seeing Peter Pan's story, but we get to follow his shadow to Neverland just like Michael, John, and Wendy!

There are some subtle additions that take some effort to notice. One is Peter, Wendy, John, and Michael flying onto the Big Ben clock in London. Big Ben itself is quite small as you venture over, but if you pay close attention you can see them on their way to Neverland!

There are a few more new additions to the attraction, but I'll leave that for you to discover. Most of them are subtle differences, but it makes the ride all the more magical while keeping true to the original and authentic 1955 adventure!

Well that's all for tonight folks! Have a spectacular night and always remember, "NEVER GROW UP!"

New Frozen Musical at Disney's California Adventure

Hello Disney Freaks!

Today it was announced that Disney's Aladdin show spectacular at Disney's California Adventure park will be replaced by a Frozen musical adaption.

January 10, 2016 will be the farewell showing of the beloved Disney classic, leading to the Summer 2016 debut of Frozen. In this new show, you will experience beautiful Arendelle sets, intricate costumes, and live music living up to the hype of Aladdin

Personally, Aladdin was my all time favorite show and I will miss the joy that it brought me from childhood on, but I am intrigued at what Disney will put forth with this new show. I mean, there is allot of potential for greatness in an adaptation of Frozen, and if anyone can pull it off, it's Disney!

So now Disney is venturing into a whole new world of ice and magic, and though I'm sure we will all miss the desert of Agrabah, the humor of the genie, and the most magical carpet ride on earth...Disney's pixie dust is certain to sprinkle it's magic on over to the new show. After all...14,000 showings will give ya "such a crick in the neck."

Well that's all for tonight folks! Good night and God Bless!

D23 Announcements for Walt Disney World

Hello fellow Disney Freaks!

This last week, Disney's D23 Expo took reign at the Anaheim Convention Center and announced some of Disney's biggest projects for the Walt Disney World theme parks. Here's some of the most exciting news for what the future holds in Orlando, Florida!

One of the biggest and most exciting plans for Walt Disney World is the upcoming Star Wars themed lands. Satisfying both Star Wars fans and mere thrill seekers, the land will take up a total of 14 acres and include two major attractions. Not only will the land take guests upon the Millennium Falcon for a galactic mission, but guests will also be able to enjoy some of Disney's more original attractions such as Star Tours and the Jedi Training Academy.

While California is beautiful with it's vast and different landscapes, why stop there when you can see the World!?!? Next Year, guests at both Walt Disney World and Disneyland Resort will be able to travel the World in a four dimensional flight experience. This attraction will be replacing the classic Soaring Over California attraction and will resemble the special effects used in Shanghai's attraction Soaring Over the Horizon.

Taking a Safari is great in the light of the day when the animals are grazing and the colors of the sky and earth are breathtaking, but imagine what it would be like in the dark with a diverse number of lights and lanterns to brighten the night sky. Soon, Walt Disney World's Animal Kingdom will transform at sun down as live performers and lights entertain in the show, "Rivers of Light" and the Kilimanjaro Safari ventures out into the wilds of the African nighttime.

Well, that's all for tonight folks! More Disney news is headed your way so keep up to date with postings. Also, make sure to click on my profile and take a quiz on which attractions you are most excited about!

The Magic Continues

Hello fellow Disney Freaks!

I have exciting news! The future of Disney just got even more magical!

In the near future, Walt Disney World will be making your dining experience even more magical than it already is! If you think that's not possible, then wait till you hear the dining plan!

Thanks to Walt Disney World's "Disney World App" and "Magical Wristbands", dining at Disney will be planned ahead of your arrival.

With reservations at the "Be Our Guest" restaurant, you will be able to order your food ahead of your arrival using the "Disney World App". Then, a long rang radio transmitter located in your magic wristband will alert a host of your arrival. The host will then greet you by name before you say a word or even enter the enchanted castle. You will also be allowed to sit anywhere you like in the restaurant while your order of delicious food is sent to your table. Again, they find where you are sitting by the transmitter located in your wristband. You are then served your meal promptly upon your arrival with specialized service that suits your family. If that isn't near magic, then I don't know what is.

I hope that one day we can all experience this new luxurious way of Disney dining. Until then, "keep on believing, the dream that you wish will come true." -Cinderella

Selfie Sticks Banned at Disney Resorts

Hello Disney Freaks!

I'm afraid I have some bad news for those of you who love taking selfies. Starting June 30th at Disneyland Resort, selfie sticks will be banned from the entire theme park. Due to safety concerns, all Disney parks will be banning selfie sticks and prohibiting it's use inside the parks.

Guests will now be checked for selfie sticks at bag check before entering the park. If a selfie stick is found on your person, you will be given the choice to either return it to your car or hotel room for safe keeping, or turn it in to the Magic Kingdom and retrieve it later.

Sadly, epic selfie pics will no longer be possible inside the "Happiest Place on Earth," but that won't stop this generation from making memories at the park. It's time to extend your arm, smile wide, and continue snapping memories that will last a life time!

Well that's all for today folks!

Inside Out

Hello fellow  Disney Freaks!

Inside out was released in theaters just this past Friday, and having seen it on Saturday, I can honestly say it was GREAT!!!

I have to be honest. Sometimes after I see a movie, I constantly battle with myself over weather it was a true classic or just another mediocre movie aimed at selling tickets and gaining profit...but let me just tell that there was no inner battle this time...it is indeed a classic.

While it didn't have a magical princess-y feel to it, it dealt with a very complex concept in a very simple and relate able way. After all, everyone has emotions, it's just a matter of understanding  them.

Anyway, I feel like I understand not only  myself a little bit better, but others as well by seeing motives and feelings in a very uncomplicated way. I also couldn't help myself from falling in love with all of the emotions/lead characters! Amy Poehler did an amazing job as Joy, and as always, I loved her fun, upbeat, and quirky character. All of the other characters were great too, such as Mindy Kaling as Disgust, Phyllis Smith as Sadness, Lewis Black as Anger, and Bill Hader as Fear. A strong cast of comedians pulled together a shaky concept, and made it into a classic Disney Film.

If you have any questions about  the film, feel free to visit http://movies.disney.com/inside-out/ to check out the characters and plot!

Well, that's all for tonight folks!

Disney Craft: Laptop Ventilation Collage Box

Hello fellow Disney Freaks!

I haven't really been posting any Disney craft ideas, so I have a small project to start you off with.

My laptop, being old, constantly overheats while watching Netflix. Usually, I prop it up with a tissue box to allow ventilation and avoid my laptop from shutting down. Annoyed with the boring look of a Kirkland tissue box, I decided to make it a Disney collage! So here it is, it's extremely easy to make and only requires:

1 tissue box
Clear packing tape
Disney Magazines/ Disney scene printouts
Scissors

Step 1: Find any small to medium sized Disney pictures from a Disney magazine, google images, or any such art form (though a magazine is preferable). You will cut these out according to your own personal preferences. I like to cut a few out to the shape of the characters' body to make way for a cool overlapping effect.

Step 2: Place the images on one side of the box. Most should be overlapping. No part of the original tissue box should be seen.

Step 3: Rip off a long piece of clear packing tape and quickly lay it on the images so that the tapes attraction does not shift the position of the images. It may take you 1-3 strips of tape per side. Make sure you repeat steps 2 and 3 for each of the boxes 6 sides.
(If your tissue box was empty, make sure you tape additional cardboard piece to the tissue hole to maintain support throughout the tissue box).

Step 4: Your all done! It was that simple! Now you can enjoy laptop ventilation, Netflix, and your homemade Disney collage all at once!
